Sea Kayaking
Ali is an adventure paddler at heart and really enjoys sharing this with fellow paddlers during these courses. Journeying and being at one with the environment you are in is what it is all about.
I am also pleased to be linked with Summit to Sea on Holy Island, where you can arrange the hire of a variety of different sea kayaks and paddles should you wish. I will then collect and transport to Mull, Anglesey or Devon as required.

Mull Explorer
6 - 10 May 2025 £400
Based out of Salen Campsite which sits fairly central to the island the first 3/4 days of this course are day trips with the intention of allowing the group to travel to an appropriate venue so as to develop both technical and environmental conditions skills, returning to the camspite each day. Each day is designed to be progressive and the venue chosen and tasks or journeys undertaken appropriate to the ambitions of the group. The final 2/3 days (depending on weather and also group aspirations) will see us pulling the previous day trips content together to plan and then set off on a mini expedition, hopefully out to the uninhabited Treshnish Island with its fabulous Puffin Colony. Participants should leave the 6 days with the confidence and knowledge to undertake journeys on the sea either as part of a group or with peers. Boats, paddles, spray decks and a buoyancy aid can be provided but participants will need their own suitable clothing and camping equipment for the course.
Is it for me? You have spent some time in a kayak in any other discipline and understand the fundemantals of paddling or you have just started sea kayaking . You wish to develop both technical skills and also sea knowledge with a view to possibly undertaking your own day trips or expeditons in the future. If you are not sure, then please do get in contact and we can have a chat.
Anglesey Circumnavigation including British Canoeing Sea Kayak Award and Multi Day Touring Award £450
20 - 25 July 2024 - £400
Arguably the jewel in the crown of Welsh sea kayaking the circumnavigation of this magical Celtic island is on many a sea kayakers wish list. With its world class status as a sea kayaking destination due to its tidal systems and huge variety of paddling conditions it can be perceived as an intimidating place to paddle. We give 5 days to complete its circumference which gives the opprotunity to have slightly shorter journeying days giving opportunity to land at the many interesting places along the way. The intention would be to camp carrying everything we need in the boats although there are other options available depending on the aspirations of the group, accommodation and travel is not included in the price of this trip. Boats and paddles along with other hardwear can be hired if necessary.

The Misty Isle is an international destination for sea kayaking, which we are fortunate to have in UK waters.
This 6 day trip is based out of the Croft Bunkhouse in Portnalong just up from the Talisker distillery.
The days are a mix of day trips with the oportunity for a one or two night expedition as well. We are booked into the bunkhouse for the duration; so can chose the best weather days as well as have somewhere to come back to at the end of each day and our extended trip.
There is no fixed agenda, and each days paddling will be detemind by the weather and also the grouos aspirations. Previously we have explored enclosed lochs as well as make an open crossing to Rum.
The cot includes guiding/coaching, accomodation and food in the bunkhouse.
